What cocktails should I use for counting filters? For counting in Microplates? What about MicroScint cocktails?

Seen the question it is assumed that filters are in a plate format.

An example is a Unifilter type or Omni Filter.

On these  type of plates substances of interest are trapped on the filter whereafter the filters are dried ( at the end a bit damp).

Sometimes the filters are dried thus far that no residual water is present, thus totally dry.

For 96 well a sample can be quantified by using approximately 10 ul to 15 ul of cocktail, an organic cocktail is possible, but also a cocktail for aqueous sample material.

When the filters are damp or really wet then a cocktail for aqueous samples only can be used, approx. 20 ul will do.

In the Topcount application one needs to use the Microscint O ( dry material) or the Microscint 20 for damp filter material.

In other instrumentation  like the Microbeta one can use Betaplate Scint ( Ultima Gold F)for dry filters and Hisafe II or Ultima Gold for wet filters.

The cocktails need to be Safe one's as otherwise the plates will not be compatible with the used LSC cocktails.
